Symbolizing society

                                                               Techno civilians
The new world we created is the world where human gets all the work done by the robots and they would live the luxurious life. The civilization before us looks like was of the robotic ones as we found the remnant of the machines and guns and robots. So we planned to continue the civilization. The main concerned of our new society will be the comfort of the human beings. Our work will be done within the tip of our finger as we will have the remote to control robots and make them work.  We will be known as the “Techno civilians ”.

Our banners represent us, our society and our environment. We want our society to be environmental concerned and keep it fresh and clean too.

The semiotics of survival

l
Holbein, Hans /Younger/ Sir Thomas More,  oil on canvas, 1527
This portrait of the person comes under the iconic representation . It represents the person of the certain place with those unique hairstyle and clothing and the jewellery. This person might be the idol of some sort of civilizzation. His looks are intense and he is helding something in his hand That might have some sort of meaning to the age he lived in.

ll
Yves Klein, Anthropometry ANT 85, 1960. 155.5 x 352.5cm.
(body prints of female models painted with his universal blue)

This is the indexical form of representation. Its the body print of the female that is presented in the form of style with those female body of 5 in a row.

This is the symbolic representation. Symbol and the digit
has been used to present some  meaning. In today's world , we call it as the symbol for heart shaped.

Francesca Woodman,  35 mm Photograph

This comes under the indexical form of representation . Here the human nude body is being used to represent  some significance. There is this woman in the chair ,looks like she is staring at the windows while the other nude women body is hanging right in front of her . The hanging part of this representation is blurred which means may be its only the imagination of the woman sitting in the chair.

Chateau Lafite,1988
This artwork by Ai Wei Wei is kind of eye catchy as an empty bottle is strapped by the shoes. Artist has used the easily available material like shoes and the bottle . This artform looks like the bottle trapped in between shoes. Green bottle is strapped by the brown shoes giving the artwork a dark combination. Curator has so well organized the artworks of the artist that gives the significance to the art. This image of artist was place in between the artwork made up of mud in the form of the vessels and on the floor were the many colorful vessels. Basically the organization of these artworks ,placement of each vessels seems to be more meaningful.
Fig. 1.Chateau  Lafite,1988.
Furthermore, this artwork sort of reflects the idea of criticism as the bottle through which we drink ,is placed at the shoes, worn at the feet. In other way , bottle can be considered as something useful which is kept at the level of feet, lowering its value of usefulness. This might have been used against the government or the high officials which is the most powerful source  in the country and artist has tried to unsupport their works and policies in this artform. He has tried to show his respect toward those powerful agent by positioning them in between the feet.  In a very simple way by using very common items , artist has put together those items in a very thoughtful way.

About the manufacture of this artwork , I think some expertise might have designed the shoe and artist might have placed it together to give some meaning to it.  This artwork by Ai Wei Wei is sort of protest or criticism against some powerful agents or source .

Collages and manifesto

We have created a civilization of the machines with human approach. We, human will be living the life of luxury and comfort where the machines would be doing everything for  us. However this comfort has to be maintained peacefully as  human being are bounded with selfishness and jealousy. So, here are some manifesto that we all have to follow and these are made by keeping in mind that we all are equal:
·         There will be no discrimination regarding anything at all.
·         The only motive people will have will be happy and a healthy living.
·         No fighting within ourselves.
·         Everyone should have the knowledge of the technology.
·         Everyone should be protective about our civilization so that we are ready to tackle any future external harms.

Survival

Sea City 2000

I like the idea of advancing the society with some great technological designs known by pyramid shaped floating ship. American architect, Buckminster Fuller who suggested this concept of floating cities has united with another architect Paolo Soleri and produces this art which makes the life most easy in the future. It is basically a water based vessel and the artist has elaborate the life that runs with the use of water only. Like we live in the land constructing buildings and parks and other social organizations, artists here has shown the possibilities of the same life in the water.

                                                         Fig. Sea City 2000
A floating vessel made with the use of the advanced technology where every details of the structure are made thoughtfully. The surface of the vessel is covered with the solar cells to produce energy and disc shaped antenna to convert the solar energy into electricity. Inside the pyramid lies the whole city with houses, parks, offices, shops, playground ground, meeting halls, etc. There is no need of cars or vehicles to travel as all these facilities lies within the walking distance. Waste management system has been set up to control the waste. There is also a bridge to connect the land and the water and also a platform or airport to receive light weight cargo. Jobs are also available for the people especially water based jobs like fish Farming, tourisms, finding sea minerals, etc.

In a nutshell, artist has so thoughtfully created this vessel which has fulfilled the every aspect of human necessity by keeping in mind the environmental balance. He has keep in the loop of every detail. Apartments to balconies, parks, greenery, and people on the streets are clearly seen in this picture. It looks like the artist is very well known about the human resources and their demands as he has created this beautiful and well managed small city on the water not the land.

Being curator

Curator is the specialist who organizes the collections in the museum. They are responsible for presenting the art in front of the people by the proper placement of the art and give the meaning of the art by its right position. However there are certain ways and categories that a curator organizes the arts. Me, as a curator would organize the arts in such a way that the whole arts would looking interesting and people would have fun. I am not a museum person but if I was given a chance to work as a curator, then my placement of the art would somewhat defines me, the way I am.

Lets explore it and feel it

                                                   Pic1.unisphere pigment print (20x24inches)
Pic2.Katie Kline (Nothing, doing. 20x25 inches)

                                                   Pic3.Gregory Gentert (20x24inches)

Pic4. Usen (by Esteban Cabeza De Baca)

The theme of arranging this picture is to explore the world from where you are. The first picture is by Gregory Gentert. Its 20 X24 inch pigment print. Second picture is the gate with the indoor tress by Katie Kline. It is 20 x 25 inches. Third picture is by Gregory gentrent too. It is 20 x 24 inches. Fourth is by Esteban cabeza de Baca. It’s a greenery picture of 6 x 6ft.

The first picture is the world. The picture is of dark colors: navy, grey and off-white. When one sees the world, it looks like a mystery. It’s a sphere with the some parts with the off-white colors (land) and the blank part (water). This picture I kept at front so as to begin the picture viewing with something that hold things more than we expected; the black and white earth picture which holds something interesting yet to explore.

The second picture is the windows meaning a medium to look at something. Window here is like an outlet to explore something. It is the beginning of some journey.

The third one is the beautiful opened way for the viewers to go inside and view the real world. The sunrise view and the dust seen during the sun start the journey yet to be continuing. blue sky ,rising sun and the outlet to these scenes.

The last one shows the greenery, the nature and trees. This picture provides a soothing to the eyes after going through all the dark dim colors. As this picture comes out to be unexpected bright green. There are trees with its branches painted brown. There is water on the ground which reflects those trees and also water plants are on the water.

As far as dimension of these pictures are concerned first three pictures are almost the same size and the last one is the bigger one. When these pictures are kept together, it kind of forms likes a T-shaped just to give these pictures looks interesting not dull. First three pictures will be in the middle and then stands the bigger fourth picture.

Well I have linked this picture to simply get oneself out from their busy schedule and see the world. There is earth ;looks kind of dull , as we see it through closed gates, it doesn’t look that fascinating but once the door is open and we step to explore we see something different and interesting . The dust, sun and the greenery that gives a hope to live life as it seems fresh and beautiful.  I hope these arrangements bring the positive vibes in people and to live life hoping for the best.

This art show welcomes everyone who wants to explore new things and and wants a lot of positivity in everything that they come across.

art history

Fig .1.The goddess Durga as the slayer of the
                                                        Buffalo-demon Mahisha (14TH-15TH centuries

Fig.2. Young warrior (early 16th century)

Fig 1 is the artwork from the part of southeast part of Asia, Nepal, in between 14th and 15th  centuries. The goddess in the picture is the Hindu goddess durga with 18 arms. She is considered the goddess of power and she demonstrates the victory of good over bad. She slays the demon that appeared in front of her as the buffalo.

Fig 2 is the European artwork from the early 16th century. It is the sculpture of the young warrior and the full length of this picture is supposed to show the spear in the hand so as to represent the nature of the warrior.

Both the picture clearly illustrates the difference in the artwork of Southeast Asia and Europe around the same time when the material used is concerned. However, both the shows some similarity as these represent the power. Fig 1 is the goddess that has the almighty power on the other hand fig 2 is the warrior who fought the battle, symbolize power.  While Southeast Asia designed the sculpture using the copper, Europe fascinated the art history with its uses of marble. Both the artwork has been able to clearly shape the each detail of the person it represents. The body of the warrior and his clothes details are seen clearly. While the hands and the body parts of the goddess are easily distinguishable.

Overall the art history during the 14th and 15th century can be considered as the developing one. Artist during that period has so been able to give the detail information about their artworks.

By seeing the similarities between these artworks ,we cant really tell that they know each other. Asia were using metals for their artwork in this period while Europe was using the marble.
Both the artwork deserves its place in the art history as they both holds their own importance . And they represents the art of the particular time zone.
